My First Sock(s)

I'm so excited! I just completed my first sock of the pair! The pattern is from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders. They are the Picot Edge Socks. I'm using Patons Stretch Sock yarn in Licorice.

Yes, I am aware that they sell socks at places like Wal-Mart and Target, and that I don't have to make my own.

And, yes, these socks are for me! :)

Welcome to The Daily Yarnie

Howdy y'all! It's official! I started a blog... I intend on discussing a little bit about life, a little bit about politics and a whole lot about yarn (knitting and crochet). You'll get to see my wips (work-in-progress) and all my finished projects. I typically have 2-3+ projects happening at once, so try to keep track. :)

Yesterday, I finished my first crochet market bag. This one is made in Lion Brand Nature's Choice Organic Cotton. The color is Walnut. There were many trips to Michael's for the yarn for this project, b/c they were out of it for about 3 weeks! UGH! Nothing like delaying a great project... Anyway, here it is! This project is just for me! I have to do that every once in a while to keep from burning out. I love making things for friends and family, but every once in a while, you have to make something just for you.

WIPs...

I am currently working on 3 scarves for the holidays... Only one of them is officially committed.

This first scarf (aka Scarf #7) is nearly finished. It has 4 lengths of dropped stitches that I have to finish pulling out for it to be complete. It's just a matter of getting it done, of course! It's made from some leftover off white Red Heart yarn, I used to make an afghan last year. I basically just knitted until I ran out of yarn! :) The pattern is "Waterfall Scarf" from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders. I'm thinking about making a second one with some purple varigated yarn that I have in my stash...
